Ecumenical Pilgrimage to the Holy Land 2023

The Holy Land is an important place of pilgrimage for Christians, where it is possible to tread in the footsteps of Christ, It offers the chance to bring the Gospel stories to life through the senses and to deeply consider the roots of our faith. Following a highly successful joint pilgrimage in 2020, the Archdiocese of Southwark and the Anglican Diocese of Southwark will be jointly hosting a pilgrimage to this special place in 2023 and you are invited to join them.

Led by Bishop Paul Hendricks, Auxiliary Bishop of Kent in the RC Archdiocese of Southwark and Bishop Christopher Chessun, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Southwark, participants in the 2023 pilgrimage will be sharing everything in common, apart from the Eucharist which remains the goal of the wider ecumenical journey.

Worship will take place together, embracing each other's traditions, and pilgrims will pray together in some of the most sacred sites, including Jerusalem, Nazareth, Caesarea, the West Bank and Bethlehem.

Joining in the leadership of the pilgrimage will be the newly appointed Dean of St George’s Roman Catholic Cathedral, Fr Michael Branch, and the Very Revd Andrew Nunn, Anglican Dean of Southwark.

If you would like to be part of this wonderful pilgrimage we encourage you to secure your place as soon as possible.
