Diocesan Choir: calling all singers!

The Diocesan Choir has now reconvened following national recovery from the COVID health crisis and is seeking singers for two important forthcoming diocesan services in St George's Cathedral, Southwark.

Monsignor Philip Moger has been appointed as an Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of Southwark. A priest of the Diocese of Leeds for 40 years, Bishop-Elect Moger has, until recently, been rector of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham in Norfolk.

His ordination in St. George's Cathedral, Southwark takes place on Tuesday 21st. February 2023 at 12.30 pm

The Music Committee has been asked to form the Diocesan Choir to support the Ordination Mass, which will also include the Cathedral Choir, and other musical groups particular to Bishop-elect Moger.

If you would like to be part of the Diocesan Choir and are available for the Ordination Mass (with prior rehearsal at 9.30 am) plus a rehearsal on Saturday 18th February, please contact Nicholas Pointer by e-mail as soon as possible: nicholas.pointer@btinternet.com

The rehearsal date and venue is the same for the Rite of Election, which will take place on Saturday 25th February 2023.

If you wish to sing at either or both services, please get in touch, using separate emails for both events, with the title of the service in the subject header.
