Over 300 young adults attend an evening with Blessed Acutis
Around 300 young adults gathered on Thursday 26 June at St George’s Cathedral for a powerful and joyful evening in honour of Blessed Carlo Acutis.

The event began with a time of Eucharistic Adoration, accompanied by uplifting praise and worship music from Hakuna, which invited everyone into an encounter with Christ, truly present in the Eucharist.
During Adoration, priests were available for confessions, and many young people took the opportunity to return to the Lord through this sacrament. Benediction followed, given by Canon Michael.
Afterwards, Anna Johnstone, former governess to the Acutis family, delivered a heartfelt and inspiring talk. She encouraged everyone to look to Carlo’s example as a young man who lived a simple yet deeply faithful life, rooted in the Eucharist, internet evangelisation and joyful service of the poor. Her words challenged us with the call to be like Blessed Carlo and share our own faith with others in small, everyday ways.
A particularly moving moment followed with the veneration of Blessed Carlo’s relic, accompanied by the Cathedral Choir’s stunning, harmonious choral music, which created a sacred and reflective atmosphere. Many took this quiet time to pray in silence and entrust their intentions through Carlo’s intercession.
The evening concluded with a lively social, which provided a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, catch up with friends, and share what the night had meant to us.
Overall, the gathering offered an encouraging reminder that, like Carlo, we are all called to holiness in the simple, everyday moments of life, to remain close to Our Lord in the Eucharist, and to bring His love into the world with joy and simplicity. As Blessed Carlo said, “The Eucharist is my highway to heaven.”
