Churches Together in South London will be holding a special gathering on Wednesday 15th May 2024, from 7 pm until 8.45 pm, at which the focus will be mental health

Mental Health

For those who can make it before the main meeting, the evening will begin with an informal buffet from 6 pm onwards at Trinity House, Chapel Court (off Borough High Street), SE1 1HW.

The meeting itself will begin at 7 pm and the Chair will be Archbishop Moses Owusu-Sekyere. The Archbishop will lead us in discussing how churches are currently working together in the mental health area. We will also explore ways to further resource this need in our community, particularly with regard to young people.

Also contributing will be:

  • Corin Pilling, UK Director of Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries, who will consider the mental health landscape post-pandemic and explain the Sanctuary Course and plans for the Youth Series.
  • Ruth Carpenter, Founder and Co-Director of Psalms & Stretches, who will explore the role of movement in mental and spiritual well-being.

During the evening break-out groups will be formed by borough to consider the key mental health priorities for churches in South London, and to inform the design of Trail, Sanctuary's new course for young people.

The CTSL Big Gatherings are focused on a theme in response to the needs of church communities in South London. Please bring your questions and ideas, and come prepared to listen.

All are most welcome.
